China’s energy production in January-February 2022: Raw coal production increased by 10.3% year on year

From January to February, the production of major energy products in industries above designated size increased to varying degrees, China Business Information Network reported.Compared with December last year, raw coal, crude oil, natural gas production growth accelerated, electricity production from decline to rise.I. Raw coal, Crude oil and natural Gas production and related Conditions Raw coal production grew rapidly, and the decline in imports narrowed.From January to February, 690 million tons of raw coal was produced, up 10.3% year on year, 3.1 percentage points faster than that in December last year, with an average daily output of 11.64 million tons.Imports of coal amounted to 35.39 million tons, down 14.0 percent year on year and 6.9 percentage points narrower than in December last year.Crude oil production grew steadily, and imports fell from increase.From January to February, crude oil production reached 33.47 million tons, up 4.6% year on year, 2.9 percentage points faster than December last year, with an average daily output of 567,000 tons.Imports of crude oil amounted to 85.14 million tons, down 4.9 percent from 20.1 percent in December last year.Crude oil processing fell slightly.From January to February, crude oil processing was 113.01 million tons, down 1.1% year-on-year, and the decline rate was 1.0 percentage points narrower than that in December last year, with an average daily processing of 1.915 million tons.Natural gas production has maintained growth, while imports have declined.From January to February, 37.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas was produced, up 6.7% year on year, 4.4 percentage points faster than in December last year, with an average daily output of 630 million cubic meters.The import of natural gas was 19.86 million tons, down 3.8% year-on-year, compared with an increase of 4.6% in December last year.Data source: Database of China Commercial Industry Research InstituteFrom January to February, power generation reached 1,314.1 billion KWH, up 4.0% year on year, compared with a 2.1% decline in December last year, and the average daily power generation reached 22.27 billion KWH.By category, in addition to wind power, thermal power, hydropower, nuclear power, solar power to varying degrees of growth.Among them, thermal power increased by 4.3%, hydropower by 8.2%, nuclear power by 9.6%, solar power by 6.5% and wind power by 7.6%.For more information, please refer to the “Research Report on Market Prospects and Investment Opportunities of China’s Energy Industry” released by CIIC.
